Nature-in-Motion depicts landscapes and their ecosystems through the prism of motion and time. Combinations of camera movement and slow shutter speed create photographs with brushstroke-like qualities that range from impressionistic to abstract, images that literally blur the reality of nature. Landscapes are photographed repeatedly from the same position over time, generating a plethora of images that are blended by hand in Photoshop. The work adheres to a strict ethical approach. All visual effects are created in camera. Photoshop is never used to remove, add or shift the placement of visual content. Each piece depicts the many realities of changing landscapes over time, expressing both their intrinsic beauty and pervasive uncertainty.
